Friday’s Numbers
By fred | January 6, 2008
We could start to see a message sent by viewers to networks recently, and that is that they want are new, fresh episodes, and that reruns are really getting boring now.
Sure, the new game of NBC won its slot on total viewers and on the 18-49 demo, but it seems clear that new episodes do much better that all reruns which are starting not to perform so well, even for CBS.
Also, people might be turning their back on television. I mean at 9.00, and despite a very weak lead-in (a rerun of Grey’s Anatomy coming last on its slot with 3.9 million viewers) and almost a million less viewers, Women’s Murder Club still managed to came first on its slot with 7.7 million viewers.
Friday Night Lights‘ fans might not be too pleased, their favorite shows barely won some viewers despite a “strong” lead-in and a competition made of reruns mostly.
At 10.00 ABC came in first with 20/20 somehow, with 7.6 million viewers, and not far behind was the new episode of Las Vegas (7.1 million) Meanwhile, CBS saw their reruns of Numb3rs fall down to 6.1 million viewers.
