Friday’s Numbers

By fred | December 16, 2007

Numbers for Friday night were a bit slower than usual to be revealed, sorry about that, but here they are! And the conclusion is no surprise, new scripted content is good. And it was very good for CBS on Friday night, winner of the night on both total viewers and on the 18-49. Not only that but they won each and every slot too.

Meanwhile, both ABC struggled and Fox fell down to the very last place both on viewers and the 18-49 demo, and The CW did pretty good with their usually strong Friday Night Smackdown!

At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer and Love’s cleavage came first with 9.8 million viewers and 2.6 on the 18-49 demo. Almost 5 million viewers watched It’s A Wonderful Life on NBC, coming second. The repeat of Don’t Forget The Lyrics on Fox was next was 4.6 million viewers, closely followed the The CW and 4.5 million viewers in front of their Friday Night Smackdown!

On ABC, Men In Trees didn’t repeat well with merely 4 million viewers and only 0.9 on the 18-49 demo !

One hour later Moonlight didn’t do much better than usual, but the 7.6 million viewers put CBS in first anyway, beating Women’s Murder Club by 1.4 million viewers. NBC stepped down to the third place despite the audience of the movie growing by 700 000 viewers. Fox tanked again with The Next Great American Band and 3 million viewers, same result as last week.

At 10.00, Numb3rs usually does a little better than Ghost Whisperer two hours before. Not this time, this time Numb3rs had about 100 000 less viewers, and also did a tiny less on the 18-49 demo (2.5 vs 2.6). Still, it was a clear winner, beating 20/20 an ABC by almost 3 million viewers, while NBC’s movie ended last despite getting about 400 000 more viewers.
