Young, animated, Shawn and Gus ? Really ?

If you’re familiar with Psych, you probably know who Shawn and Gus are. If you haven’t recognized them, those two cartoon characters you see on the right, those are young animated version of Shawn and Gus. For real.
Although I would acknowledge that this is a much better initiative that what NBC does with Heroes (did you know you could create your own Heroes? One that could end up on the show? Yeah that’s what happens when writers have no ideas what to do with their show!) I really don’t like that idea. Is it because animation writers might not be under the WGA, and so not striking, or is that just evil thinking ?
Either way, I don’t see it being any good, but that might be me…
In a series of animated vignettes produced by JJ Sedelmaier, young Shawn and Gus explore the timeless mysteries of childhood. Even at a young age, Shawn’s brilliant powers of observation are already evident, as is his wise-cracking, irreverent approach to life. And young Gus is the same reluctant sidekick; slightly uptight at times, but always diligent when it comes to keeping things on track.
The vignettes will premiere during the commercial breaks of new Psych episodes and will also live on psych.usanetwork.com. Among their many adventures, the duo will attempt to learn what goes on inside the teacher’s lounge, discover what’s really in the cafeteria’s “mystery meat” and even venture into a girl’s bathroom!
