WTF: Britney Spears to guest-star in How I Met Your Mother ?!!

This is something that, it just, … WTF!??
When I first heard of rumors that Britney Spears might be making an appearance on the so great and hilarious sitcom How I Met Your Mother, I decided to ignore it. Then, I started to hope that this only started because Britney was seen on a set, and that it would turn up to be nothing more than the latest Pop Fiction bit, but it seems not to be the case I’m afraid.
Sadly, a CBS rep officially confirmed to TVGuide.com that it is true, yes Britney Spears is guest-starring on an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. Jesus Fucking Christ, that’s like, what’s the opposite of awesome already ?
This show is one of the best sitcoms out there, I love it, and I can’t believe it. It’s already happened before, when they had Mandy Moore on ? Do you guys remember that ? She was pretty awful and that whole guest thing sucked, it did, and now this ?? I think some shows are just great when it comes to having guests on, they know how to pick them and how to write for them, it’s a blessing and you want more. Yes, 30 Rock, I mean you, so go get me some more Will Arnett or I’ll tell Greenzo you’ve been naughty!
Anyways, it’s obvious to me that while the folks of HIMYM are pretty genius when it comes to regular casting or writing awesome scripts, the guest casting bit isn’t something they’re good at, and they should stop before it’s too late. I mean, how hard is it to read that damned Crazy-Hot Scale ?? Britney went all the way up on the crazy axis, while falling all the way down on the hot axis, that’s the opposite of what you want !!
Now if something good could come out of this mess, it’d be great. Like if CBS would now think that it’s great to have such a trainwreck on the show, and pick it up for a new season. They’ve hurt it enough, time to please the fans.
Anyway, new episodes of How I Met Your Mother will be back next Monday, March 17 at 8.30 (remember, new timeslot!) on CBS.
