Will there be a fourth season to Prison Break ?

If you usually watch Prison Break, you’ve noticed that last night at 8.00 there was no episode to be seen. This third season was (finally) over last week, and the show isn’t coming back for any more episodes this season, what we saw last week was the season finale. Now the question is, was it also a series finale, or will there be a fourth season to follow up on it ?
As I’ve said in my review of the episode, I for one felt that it worked quite nicely as a both a season and even a series finale. Sure, lots of questions haven’t found an answer and mane fates are still unresolved, still some stories found closure while others opened to completely new possibilities which is also a way to end things. Then of course, there’s the ones no one cares about (Bellick, T-Bag, …)
Either way, that was only my own opinion, of course. Many fans don’t share the same feeling and want the show to be back, they want another season, and needless to say that people working on the show share the same feeling.
Recently, writer Nick Santora explained it all : “A fourth season of Prison Break has not been officially picked up yet. But our next season is NEVER picked up this early in the year, so that doesn’t mean much. (..) I believe we will be picked up for a fourth season. I can’t guarantee it. I just feel it will happen. So don’t worry about rumors from reporters… if the show is getting canceled, as soon as I know, I will tell you guys. But like I said, I don’t think it is going to happen. I have faith.”
And lately the rumors are that the show might indeed get another season after all ! Producers have ideas for a story to tell during a new season, and recently Chris Alexander, a spokesperson for 20th Century Fox Television, even revealed that if/when the show will be renewed, the show is expected to move from its home in North Texas to Los Angeles to film : “The producers have an exciting idea for next season’s storylines, and unfortunately, it may require moving the series back to Los Angeles for creative reasons.”
I’m not sure that writers/producers having “exciting idea” for the next season is any sign of anything at all, after all they had a new and exciting idea already back after season two, then Fox had them to rewrite it completely, then they had to do it without Sara because of this mess, and in the end this season was without a doubt the worst season of the series.
The third season still averaged around 8 million viewers, and while the numbers were lower the for the previous season they did not endlessly drop during the season, the show was able to keep a strong fan base around and always performed quite well on the beloved 18-49 demo.
Dominic Purcell also appeared on talk shows and said that “there will definitely will be a fourth season“, so Fox hasn’t confirmed it yet, but seems it looks pretty good for fans of the show willing to spend another year with Michael and co…

Oh dear this show is absolutely dreadful especially since they added new boring characters in season 3 –> Jodi Lyn Okeefe.Nick Santora is a dirt bag who only cares about money that dummy has even said that he wants to end it at 7 seasons not 4 but seven.He and the rest of the PB people are milking this horrible show until the end.If FOX has any sense and brains they should cancel this show and not waste their money!
IF PRISON BREAK WAS SO BAD WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE WATCH IT. IT WOULDNT HAVE LASTED 1 SERIES NEVER MIND 3 IF IT WAS AS BAD AS YOU SUGGEST. I CANT WAIT FOR THE 4th SERIES AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL GO ON FOR THE 7

This is the best show over the last couple of week me and my partner have watch the whole of the 1-3 series and we now have nothing to do with ourselves please tell me there will be a 4th series
Oh yes, Prison Break will have a fourth season, that’s for sure.
In fact, it will even have old faces attached back to their bodies, or something…
