Why watch the series finale of E.R. ?

By fred | March 3, 2009

Alexis BledelWhy would you tune in to watch the very last episode of E.R. April 2nd on NBC? Sure, if – like me – you quited the show years ago and probably wouldn’t recognize anyone of the people rushing the Cook County’s E.R. except maybe for a nurse or two, that question might be a good one.

But after all, E.R. might have lost some of its bright light over time, it still was a groundbreaking show in its days, and for some years delivered some of the best thing you could find on television, back when NBC was synonym for mediocrity and failure, as is often the case now (Knight Rider anyone?).

But still, the show remains more than what it is now, despite Romano’s silly fate, it’s a symbol, and to make sure you’re not completely lost a few known faces are coming back, like the unavoidable Doug Ross (George Clooney) and his beloved Carol (Julianna Margulies).

Still not convinced? Well, maybe the reason you might want to tune in, and say goodbye to this one was very official last time, is not in the old faces, but the new ones then. As it turns out, a new intern coming up to the Cook County will be no other than the always delicious Rory Gilmore Alexis Bledel, and that was all I needed to hear to know I had to be there… About you?
