What will you be watching on Wednesday nights ?
By fred | September 3, 2008
Still going through the fall schedule day by day, we’re now up to Wednesday. Wednesdays are always pretty busy, and this isn’t going to chance. But, between Monday’s CBS comedy night and Thursday’s NBC comedy line up, now there’s another day that wants to make us laugh : Wednesday. At least that’s what CBS hopes, but if they fail I’m sure we’ll have plenty of great laughs from our favorite pie maker, and/or our favorite forensic anthropologist and her FBI agent.
First, a look at what’s to come…
* At 8.00 on Fox this is the new home for Bones, back tonight in a special two-hour season premiere; on NBC we have the return of the talking car in the new Knight Rider, back September 24th; and as promised on CBS it’s a new comedy night, starting with New Adventures Of Old Christine, premiering September 24th; finally it’s the return of the pie maker and all his friends with the sophomore season of Pushing Daisies on ABC, starting October 1st
* At 8.30 it’s CBS new comedy, and probable miss, Gary Unmarried, premiering September 24th of course
* At 9.00 on Fox will no be found Til Death, starting September 10th; CBS hit-drama Criminal Minds will be back, starting September 24th; and on ABC Private Practice will be back, starting October 1st
* At 9.30 the comedy continues (or does it?) with new series Do Not Disturb, making its debut on September 10th
* At 10.00 we have new series Sons Of Anarchy, debuting tonight on FX; on CBS it’s the good old cops of CSI: New-York that we’ll find there, starting September 24th; on NBC after the boys and their talking cars, it’s time for the girls and whatever it is that’s good in Lipstick Jungle (if anything), back September 24th; and finally on ABC the new season of Dirty Sexy Money, premiering October 1st
Then, what I’ll be watching…
Aw, Wednesday. Last season this used to be a special day for me, with quite a few shows I really loved. Some of them are back, but on a different night. On the other hand, Wednesday is now the day of Bones, so it’s still gonna be a pretty good night.
I can’t wait for the new season of Pushing Daisies, a really sweet show like you wouldn’t dream of. Bones, I don’t know actually. I’m still on the fence, I’m still pretty mad at what they did last season with Zack, that was awful, stupid, and I truly hated it. But who am I kidding, this is Bones, I’m a TVoholic, I’ll be watching… frack, this sucks, I guess.
Knight Rider I might tune in at first, to see if it’s really different from that bad two-hour movie we had last season, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I never watched New Adventures Of Old Christine, and I don’t think I’ll start now. Which is a good excuse to skip the whole thing and not bother with Gary Unmarried I guess. Same will probably apply with Til Death and thus Do Not Disturb.
Of all the shows at 10.00 I may still keep an eye on Dirty Sexy Money, but I always felt the first season lacked something to be interesting, and all the drama that took place behind the scenes doesn’t really strike me as good news in that department. Other than that, nothing.
But Wednesdays are also home to Comedy Central’s great shows like Lewis Black’s Root Of All Evil, and will also see, at some point, the return of the awesome South Park & The Sarah Silverman Program, right?
And finally, you!
That was my take, but what will you be watching on Wednesday nights ? Will you flavor pies, or human remains ? Let us know in the comments!

I will be watching Dirty Sexy Money for sure! Loved this show last year! So happy to see Donald Sutherland in a likeable role. He is great on this show. I will also be watching Grey’s from the week before on my DVR. Love to watch it twice! ABC did these recap things that are great. There is one for Pushing Daisies, Grey’s, DSM and more.
