USA full of crap…

By fred | December 20, 2007

USASo after we learned the The 4400 was canceled, along with another series on USA, Dead Zone, Jeff Wachtel, USA network programming chief, had this to say : “We wish we could keep all our great shows alive forever. But we feel we need to give some of our new shows a platform to grow, and it’s with great sadness that we say goodbye to two shows that had a great run and helped create the resurgence of original programming on our network and on all of cable.

Yeah, right.

That’s absolute BS, and the way I see it it’s a sign of total disrespect towards the series, their fans and the people working on them. I mean you cannot say those were great series that did do good, and then just cancel them like that.

Listen, I don’t watch Dead Zone so I can’t tell, but sure maybe The 4400 didn’t had its best season, but it was still a good show, and a good season that didn’t do too bad. The least everyone deserved was that the cancellation announcement be released before the season was over, so that writers could actually make a conclusion and resolve things. Especially in such (half-)serialized series like that !

But when you trash it out that way, you’re an ass, and you don’t get to pretend to be filled with great sadness and none of that.

Let’s hope there will be a made-for-TV movie about The 4400, so we can actually find out how it ends, if it worked, who were really the good guys and who were the bad ones, all of that.
