To Die Or Not To Die…

Well, that’s not really the question, and that is definitely not a question when it comes to 24. Now, what do I mean by that, what character am I referring to, and more important if you don’t already, do you want to know ?
If you do, read after the jump. If you don’t, for now, wait for 24 to return on Fox. If you don’t ever want to know, you gotta run now. RUN!
So the news is out, it is true : Carlos Bernard will officially be returning to the show next season, as Tony Almedia.
Riiight. I’ll just repeat myself here a bit, if you don’t mind :
Did we assume he died, but he in fact did not, somehow? I’m pretty sure we did not, Tony did die that day. You can even read it on Fox’s 24 website :

Jack enters the clinic and finds Tony and Burke on the ground. Gasping his last breath of life, Tony tells Jack that he couldn’t do it. Jack clutches Tony’s head. Tony dies, and Jack cries with him still in his arms.Pretty damn clear : Tony dies. Not falls into a coma or whatever, no, he died. So when producers are now trying to get Tony back in the game, it’s just retarded. Planning his come back for the season finale of season 6 as they did, or trying to have him back during season 7 doesn’t matter : it’s plain stupid.
When talking about it, even executive producer David Fury said that “Tony’s death wasn’t satisfying“. Ok, so it wasn’t, they didn’t do what they wanted to do, it didn’t turned out the way they had hoped. Fine. This is still “Tony’s death” we’re talking about here, as in he’s dead, so it’s too late, what’s done is done.
Yet, after all that, executive producer/show-runner Howard Gordon still said without shame : “Tony’s uncertain fate near the end of “Day 5″ left the door open for his return. And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance – the 24 tribute to a major character’s demise – we always kept this as a possibility.”
Riiight.
So because of that silent clock thing, they can bring back dead people. Ok. Help me out here people, was there one for Michelle ? What about President Palmer, the original ? Will they be back as well ? At this point, I really wish so…
