The Office back to work, full cast

By fred | August 5, 2007

Jenna FischerAs you probably know Jenna Fischer, Pam on The Office, broke her back after falling at an NBC party in mid-May. She had to spend her whole summer nursing four fractured vertebrae, but the Emmy nominee insists she’s almost 100 percent and will be back to work without missing a day for the fourth season of the show, whose production will start this Monday (August 6).

Fisher told People she’s “still sore. I have good days and so-so days. I’m definitely able to work.

Many of the characters on The Office spend a lot of time sitting at their desk, and while Michal is probably the one who’s up & walking the most, secretary Pam on the other hand might be the one sitting more. Especially on the beginning of next season, as producers and writers will take good care of the beloved secretary.

They got a variety of chairs for me. I had to sit in, I think, six different chairs, and got to pick my favorite one.

Fischer explains that she’s slowly getting better, but still not fully there yet. “Truthfully, I’m not in a lot of pain anymore. It’s more some discomfort. I don’t have a headache, but I would say it’s comparable to having a low-grade headache.

Her back still hasn’t fully recuperated though. “I’m not allowed to start physical therapy yet. The bones have to completely heal first. I start physical therapy in about three weeks. There are little things all the time that I don’t realize I can’t do until I try to do them, like parallel-park my car“, she explains.
It’s the twisting behind me. It’s certain muscles that you’re not sure about yet. I’m just going to try to roll with it. Everyone is so supportive and concerned. I know it’s going to be okay.

The Office returns Thursday, September 27 at 9pm on NBC, and remember it will be hour-long episodes for its first four weeks !
