The End Of Prison Break… ?

Currently in its fourth season, which is better - or less worse - than its third season in Sona, Prison Break has been struggling in the ratings, getting the worst performances yet averaging barely 6 million viewers and 2.4 on the demo thus far.

When Fox released its mid-season schedule, fans of Michael and the rest of the A-Team surely noticed that Prison Break was nowhere to be seen, and announced to be coming back at a later date. Now, actors of the Fox drama have been notified by 20th TV that they might go on and shoot two additional episodes. No word yet as to what those would be, writers have yet to pitch ideas about it, but it sounds likely that those could be used to give the show a final conclusion.

Though even if those two episodes were made, it’s unclear what the network would do with them. Discussions are under way, and speculations go from Fox running the episodes as additional episodes in the spring, though it is said to be considered unlikely, to airing the episodes as one two-hour event next season, or simply not air them at all, and have them end up on the DVDs.

As far as I’m concerned, seeing how this season is struggling and has been loosing viewers pretty much constantly, I’d say a fifth season is very unlikely, and those two additional episodes, if done, would be likely to be aired as two-hour series finale. Which, really, would be better than having to wait for the DVDs, that would just suck.
