The CW wants more 90210, adds a Gilmore twist

Despite being really not that good, as well as not doing so well in the ratings - the much hyped pilot was followed by close to 5 million viewers, before loosing 2 million of them in the following weeks - The CW is backing up their latest “new” series, 90210, picking the show up for a full season order !
The back-nine order was announced after only four episodes aired, bringing the first season to a full 22-episode order and making it the first new series to get picked up this season. Dawn Ostroff said that 90210 represents “another step forward in building a cohesive schedule that defines this network as a destination for young women with shows that get our audience talking — and watching.”
And in an effort to actually make the show good, Rebecca Kirschner, who wrote and co-exec produced on Gilmore Girls, has joined as an executive producer alongside Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. Even better, according to Michael Ausiello, Kirschner will now be the showrunner of 90210. Doesn’t mean things will actually get good - after all it means this is yet another showrunner that being pushed away & replaced by a network! - but who knows, maybe it’ll be a little better, or, you know, less boring…
