Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles renewed for a second season !

Okay, we all knew they’d be back, rumors were strong these last weeks/days, and now it’s official : Fox has officially renewed the show for a second season, ordering 13 episodes of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for next season.
This isn’t a surprise, but still very good news. The show might not have been a major hit, but with the strike and everything that happened this season things haven’t been so easy, and as Fox make sure to remind everyone, “the show currently ranks as the No. 1 new scripted series this season among Adults 18-49“.
But wait, there’s more !
In other good news, Derek Reese will be back as well ! Yes, Fox also announced that Brian Austin Green will join the cast of the show as series regular, so if, like me, you liked his character and hoped he’d stay around, that’s another wish you got granted right there! Now who said good sci-fi couldn’t exist on Fox ?
Here’s to hoping Dollhouse will be given as much time, because from what I hear this might be pretty good. Not to forget Fringe, of course, and Fox might actually have lots of great sci-fi shows on the air next season !
Side note : I don’t know, and I might be complete wrong on that one, but I feel like usually once shows were picked up and had a full season order, renewals were for the complete package, a full season order of 22 episodes, but now with the strike and everything things have been a bit different. Am I wrong here, or has there always been so many shows to only receive a 13 episodes order for their second season ?
I’m thinking of this show of course, but also Life or Chuck, who were picked up for a full season order before the strike (9 more episodes ordered, thus bringing them to a total of 22 episodes for their first season) only to be renewed for 13 episodes, like they had to prove themselves again… I don’t like that.
What do you think, am I wrong to worry about that ? And how happy are you to know everyone fighting for the survival on Mankind will be back next season ?
