Teen Choice Awards: the nominees
By fred | July 4, 2007
Awards are a big thing in the world of TV. People just love to get awards, so there are plenty of awards given out each year. But awards are not just about egos, they are also about money. First of all, they are a great way to promote a movie, and increase its performance on the box office, and/or DVD sales.
Of course some are more about money, and promoting some movies, than others. The TCA nominees are now known, and it looks like it will be nothing but yet another big promo. Just like the MTV Movie Awards were a few days ago, not an award show, but a big promo for Transformers.
What? The movie wasn’t out, so no one had seen it yet? Who cares, they just make it win a new category: Best Movie You Haven’t Seen.
Oh yeah, sounds right. Though if what it really meant was movie that most likely will be the biggest pice of crap this summer, they got it right.
Anyways, here are the TCA nominees for this year:
(In italic are my own votes, because I know you care)
Choice Movie: Action Adventure
300
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End
Spider-Man 3
Transformers
I vote for “Pirates”. Without hesitation Spider-Man 3 was the worst of them all, huge let down. Just please don’t give it to “Transformers”, I’m already sick of this blockbuster like crazy
Choice Movie: Drama
Step Up
Stomp the Yard
The Departed
The Guardian
The Pursuit of Happyness
Choice Movie: Chick Flick
Georgia Rule
License to Wed
Music and Lyrics
The Holiday
The Last Kiss
Choice Movie: Comedy
Blades of Glory
Evan Almighty
Knocked up
Night at the Museum
Ocean’s Thirteen
Hard to vote here. Not only because I haven’t seen all those, but because most of them suck. “Evan Almighty” looks God Damned awful; “Night at the Museum” as the be one of the worst; ah no look, here’s “Ocean’s Thirteen”. I vote blank.
Choice Movie: Horror/Thriller
Disturbia
The Number 23
1408
Hostel: Part II
Saw III
Haven’t actually seen it, nor 1408, but all others are incredibly bad movies. I wonder why they didn’t include “The Hills Have Eyes 2″ on that list, seeing as it’s one of the worst piece of shit ever made, too
Choice Movie Actor: Drama
Ashton Kutcher - The Guardian
Leonardo DiCaprio - The Departed, Blood Diamond
Channing Tatum - Step Up
Adam Sandler - Reign Over Me
Will Smith - The Pursuit of Happyness
Please don’t give it to Adam Sandler. Maybe it’s because I’m European, but this guy is far from being that funny. And most his movies are of the worst comedy ever made. Ever. Alright teens, vote for Ashton!
Choice Movie Actress: Drama
Angelina Jolie - A Mighty Heart
Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls
Lindsay Lohan - Bobby, Georgia Rule
Meagan Good - Stomp the Yard
Scarlett Johansson - The Black Dahlia, The Prestige

Shia LaBeouf - Transformers
Chris Evans - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End
Orlando Bloom - Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End

Did you known that Tobey Maguire can’t act? No? Lucky you who haven’t watched “Spider-Man 3″ yet. Don’t change that, you’ll regret it.
Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure
Jessica Alba - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Keira Knightley - Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End

Sacha Baron Cohen - Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Steve Carell - Evan Almighty
Will Ferrell - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Blades of Glory

Choice Movie Actress: Comedy
Emma Roberts - Nancy Drew
Jessica Simpson - Employee of the Month
Katherine Heigl - Knocked Up
Sophia Bush - John Tucker Must Die

Bill Nighy (Davy Jones) - Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End
Julian McMahon (Victor Von Doom) - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Choice Movie: Hissy Fit
Cameron Diaz - The Holiday

Ocean’s Thirteen - Ocean’s Thirteen
Seth Rogen & Paul Rudd - Knocked Up
Will Smith & Jaden Smith - The Pursuit of Happyness
Will Ferrell & Jon Heder - Blades of Glory
Not seen, guessing. Don’t care. BTW Smith & Smith are no chemistry, they’re a family pretending to be a family, seriously, unless they can’t stand each-other in real life I refuse to give an award to the kid. I love hate mail.

Desperate Housewives?? Are you kidding me? That show isn’t funny at all. Where the fuck is How I Met Your Mother FFS??! Special mention to Entourage though, great show. And if you vote for Ugly Betty you’re a racist against comedy, and that’s bad no matter what
