Screen Actors Guild Awards : Nominations
By fred | December 20, 2007
One new set of nominees was announced, this time it was the SAG Awards. Winners will be announced on January 27, 2008.
The nominees aren’t really always the right ones, in my opinion, and for instance I find it hard to understand that the only newcomers you can find are Mad Men, Samantha Who? and Damages. I mean, seriously. How can there be nothing for the best new series of the season, the fantastic Life, or the oh-so-sweet Pushing Daisies ? Just doesn’t make sense to me…
List of nominees after the jump, with in bold my votes, and maybe a few comments as well, as usual… Although I pretty much expressed my choices over the Golden Globes nominations.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series
- James Gandolfini (The Sopranos)
- Michael C. Hall (Dexter)
- Jon Hamm (Mad Men)
- Hugh Laurie (House)
- James Spader (Boston Legal)
Question: Who is James Spader paying off to always get there ? I mean really…
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
- Glenn Close (Damages)
- Edie Falco (The Sopranos)
- Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters)
- Holly Hunter (Saving Grace)
- Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer)
If you missed it, watch the DVDs, this show is great!
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series
- Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)
- Steve Carell (The Office)
- Ricky Gervais (Extras)
- Jeremy Piven (Entourage)
- Tony Shalhoub (Monk)
Haven’t changed my mind on this… I don’t see why I would.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
- Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?)
- America Ferrera (Ugly Betty)
- Tina Fey (30 Rock)
- Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds)
- Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty)
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
- Boston Legal
- The Closer
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Mad Men
- The Sopranos
I think they need it, you know, feel the love a little.
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series
- 30 Rock
- Desperate Housewives
- Entourage
- The Office
- Ugly Betty
That’s a no-brainer. I mean I love The Office, but you have to recognize 30 Rock’s greatness as well. If Ugly Betty wins people will have to die…
