Sci-Fi to air Jericho season 1, but missed a great opportunity

When I first read about that news, I read it wrong, I read what I may have wanted to read, I read what would have been a really cool thing, but then I realized I read things wrong.
Realizing my mistake, and by “my mistake” I do mean Sci-Fi mistake, obviously, I was so disappointed I didn’t even want to talk about it. Really, it wasn’t worth mentioning given how stupid it was. But then again, even if that’s just a way to spread the word about the return of Jericho, with a new season that’s even better than the first one was, maybe it’s worth a few words after all.
So it has been reported yesterday that Sci-Fi bought the rights to air reruns of the complete first season of Jericho, the post-apocalyptic series from CBS, as well as the second season, once it will have first aired on CBS, starting February 12 at 10.00
And to kick things started, Sci-Fi will have a four-episode marathon February 11 at 7.00, so the day before the shows’s second season premieres on CBS. Which is kind of a stupid thing to do, really, because what would have been great would have been for Sci-Fi to organize a real marathon weekend, or have a full week dedicated to Jericho, during which they would have aired the complete first season of the show, and on February 11, so before the second season stars on CBS, they would have aired the last episodes of the season, not the first ones !
Now something like that would have been a much better thing, because any viewers who’s not familiar with the show and never watched it would have been able to watch the first season completely, and then hooked up go on to the next one. Besides, chances are that any new viewer giving Jericho a try might go for the second season, even if they watched the four first episodesĀ on Sci-Fi, and if they like it they’ll stick with season two and not go back & forth from Sci-Fi and the first season to CBS and the second one.
Anyways, remember that the fate of the world is at stake, starting February 12 at 10.00 on CBS when Jericho returns.
