Sarah Wayne Callies out of Prison Break??

For some time already there was been rumors that, for the next and (hopefully) last season of Prison Break, the lovely Dr. Sara Tancredi wouldn’t be seen anymore.
Lately it’s been known that a new actress has been casted as Sara Tancredi, reviving rumors even more. So what does that mean, is Sara Tancredi not leaving the show, only Sarah Wayne Callies ?? Did they recast Tancredi, and replaced her on the next season by someone playing the same character??

And the answer is… no. No, Sara Tancredi is not leaving. Neither is Sarah Wayne Callies.
The truth is that, she has been signed to appear back on season 3 but, as you may be aware already, Callies just gave birth to her first child and her maternity leave overlapped the shooting of the three first episodes of the new season of Prison Break.
Therefore, production tried to give her as little on-screen time as possible, and casted a look alike double to shoot the three first episodes, in which Sara Tancredi will be shot mostly in shadows or with things blocking the view of her face, in order to camouflage the look alike double as the real Sara.
Sara’s voice will be Callies, though, as the actress already started to tape voice overs for her part. But don’t worry though, everything will be back to normal as Sarah Wayne Callies will be fully back, covering both sound and look of Sara Tancredi, for episode four.
Producers initially wanted to keep this whole camouflage thing a secret, hoping the audience would never hear about it nor notice anything on screen.
Regarding the new season in itself, without any spoiler, creator and executive producer Paul Scheuring said that “it essentially will be a new chapter. It’s going to return to the fundamental conceit, to the roots of what the show was about.”
I guess that goes with being back in jail and all… Still looks like the one season too much to me.
