Prison Break is over, welcome Cherry Hill !

Wow. This is too good to be true. And by “good” I obviously mean everything that stands in the direct opposite, of good. I can’t believe it… Okay so as recently as a couple of days ago I explained how Fox was ruining Prison Break, and I was already quite astonished by the resource those network execs morons had.
But they did it again, I have to admit, I did not see that one coming. Bless them, when it comes to shitty ideas, those guys know their shit.
So here’s the latest one : Fox is now thinking of creating a spin-off, that would basically consist of a female version of Prison Break!
That’s right, they want to make a spin-off of Prison Break, based on a new character that has yet to be introduced on the actual series. And in the big lines, what this new series, so far called Prison Break: Cherry Hill, would consist in nothing more than what the original show was, back in its first season when it was all good and popular, but with a “twist”.
The main character would be a female one, locked up due to, of course, a family tragedy orchestrated by “The Company”, and for one reason or another she wants to break out. Sounds familiar ? But it should be good, because you’ll get chicks instead of guys, so you know that should please the male viewers interested in witnessing catfights every week. Retards.
This has to be one of the worst idea ever. First, they ruined what used to be a great show, and now they want to make a pale clone of it with more pretty girls hoping this would still raise good numbers… Please tell me no one is gonna fall for such a stupid move.
I hate Fox. I really do. When they have new projects, with series that are different from the rest, that have potential, and may not be perfect but given time could become real hit, they trash them out after no more than 3 or 4 episodes aired. And now this ?
Spoilers Alert
So who’s the female version of Michael ? Well, her name is not Cherry, but Molly. Casting is stull under going but you can be sure they’re looking for a pretty good looking actress, who before getting her own spin-off long before spans get a chance to hate her character, will appear on Prison Break.
And she will be introduced as a new love interest for Michael. Because fans really hated Sara Tancredi and were pleased to see her (head) go, right? So obviously bringing in a new love interest has to be a good idea, I don’t see no cracks in that plan either.
Executive producer Matt Olmstead is penning the new script which is expected to have the same tone as the original series, but with less testosterone.
According to Hollywood press, the spin-off would revolve around Molly, an upper-middle-class wife who suffered a family tragedy thanks to The Company and seeks out brothers Scofield/Burrows in her quest to exact vengeance. She relates to Michael as they both lost loved ones, and they may get involved.
Molly is sent to a women’s detention facility fully accepting her life sentence (for her revenge) until she is contacted by the government with information that some of her loved ones are in fact still alive. From hat point on, she morphs from a vengeful murderer to a motivated woman willing to do anything to get out of prison and get back to her loved ones.
If the spin-off would not be picked up to series, Molly would then stay on Prison Break for a bit longer. If Fox does shoot the pilot, we may even get to see it after Prison Break returns from its stupid hiatus, or next September at the latest. That is, in the absurd world where we would actually tune in for such crap…
