On The Bubble: Is Your Favorite Show Returning ?

How I Met Your Mother
The bad news: Rumor has it not everyone at CBS loves this show.
The good news: Ted and the gang have been on a ratings roll since their Britney bump. The laffer is also the Eye’s youngest-skewing show. Translation: Wait for it, wait for it… they’d be insane to cancel it!
Odds of Survival: 8
I say: I say that I disagree with the statement that the show has been “on a ratings roll since their Britney bump“. That’s not true, they’ve been doing great ever since it came back on the air. Sure, the Britney-episode had one more million viewers, but before that it was already doing very nicely. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be back, I’m saying Britney shouldn’t be back.
Also, it’s a know fact CBS execs are a bunch of morons (proof: they don’t like this great & hilarious show!) but if they don’t renew it, I’ll stop watching CBS.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
The bad news: For as much money as Fox poured into this show in terms of promotion and special effects, it should’ve done better.
The good news: The network seems to think it will do better next season — it’s already staffing up.
Odds of Survival: 9
I say: Yeah, this one is not even a news. There might be no official statement as of now, but it’s been renewed. Everybody knows it. It’s not been doing as good as it should have, but it’s been doing good still, including on the demo, and as a nice time shifted audience too. It’s a really nice show, not as expensive to produce as many believe it to be according to producers, and they’re pretty much shooting season 2 already.
Eli Stone
The good news: Following Desperate Housewives, it scored its highest ratings since its premiere. Even more importantly, ABC loves it!
The bad news: Eli needs to hang onto the extra viewers it gleaned from Desperate when it returns to its regular Thursday time slot tomorrow.
Odds of Survival: 7
I say: The great news here is that ABC loves it. I know ABC, like any other network, can be quite stupid at times, but recently I have to admit it’s easy to love them. They gave Lost a date for the end of the series, they gave it the three-hour finale producers wanted, it’s not official but they’re having a final season of Scrubs while NBC is too stupid to care about a great show loved by many, and they love Eli Stone !
I sure hope the coming season finale will do good, because the show needs to come back, it’s just too good to go away. Recently executive producer Greg Berlanti admitted to not knowing a lot more, but added “I can tell you this: Marc Guggenheim and I — as well as the cast, crew and other writers — are insanely proud of the show. Like any show, there was a learning curve, and our best episodes are clearly the last four or five.
We just hope anyone who wants the show to come back will let that be known to ABC. And thanks so much to you and to all the fans who have reached out. It’s a great show, and it’s been immensely rewarding to have put something so unique and, hopefully, inspiring on the air.”
And you know what, it’s hard to disagree! I myself wasn’t too pleased with the show in its first episodes, but it’s improved greatly and I really like it. I’m pretty confident the show will be back. You gotta have faith!
