On Bones past & future…
By fred | July 23, 2007
More info coming from Fox’s TCA press tour in this Bones special edition =)
What will be different now that, as you may or may not know, Boreanaz got himself a new title? Will we get to see the episode that disappeared last season after the shooting tragedy ? It’s all after the jump…
As previously mentioned one of the two stars of the show, David Boreanaz, got himself a brand new title of co-producer for this new season. When asked about how different things will be for him now, he said that he “get to bring ideas to [the producers] about [his] character“. Wow, sounds like a real job!
Although, Emily Deschanel mentioned later that she too was allowed to bring ideas to producers as well. Yet, she don’t get no fancy “producer” title. And I wonder how much more he’s being paid than she is, too…
Last season an episode of Bones was never shown because, well, some execs thought it was too close to the Virginia Tech shooting. It’s a lot of BS (if you ask me), but they did it anyways.
Good news : We’ll eventually get to see that episode, sometime in December.
Bad news : Executive producer Hart Hanson says that we won’t really see it, as “it will be reworked” first.
Spoiler Alert
Don’t want to know anything about next season? Stop reading there.
If you don’t mind, some light reveals from Hanson, who talked about the whole Booth/Brennan “relationship” :
“We want to keep them apart as long as we can without annoying the audience, and there are a number of ways to do that. There are certain steam valves you can use to relieve the pressure, and we plan on using every one of them. But it’s Season 3. We better see something.”
Yeah, sounds bad. I personally don’t want them to end up together, lame move, but what I really don’t want is some stupid will they/won’t they being dragged episodes after episodes for years and years. Some sexual tension or jokes every now and then is cool, but going through “every one of” the possible “steam valves” just to have things last longer but never evolve… Really, it’s season 3, better make a decision already!
BTW, if you were worried about Zack’s future, don’t be. Of course he’ll be back, he’ll just be “sent home early from Iraq“, as simple as that.
