Not all 24 producers are delusional!

Season 7 Spoilers

They probably won’t do it in season seven, but when the whole Africa story was been worked on they had, for the first time ever, planned to break the rules : “We were going to do a time jump twelve hours ahead and have Jack Bauer in Africa for a couple of hours in real-time and then jump it forward long enough to get back to America. So we were going to defy the real-time thing.“, told Gordon.

For sure it’s better than hours of Jack sitting in a plane, doing nothing. Because they had done that during season six already! But breaking the “real-time” rule might not be the best idea, it breaks the whole “day” concept, to which many are attached now.
They could have gone “Snakes On A Plane”, though. Seeing Jack stuck on a plane in an intense, action-filled bunch of episodes….

As rumors indicated, it’s been confirmed that next season of 24 will not took place in Los Angeles (finally!!) but Washington and, by the way, no more CTU. This is great news if you ask me.

The season will start roughly three or four years after season six ended, despite the fact that it would now made Bauer and his friends quite old. Time is supposed to be a pretty important thing on the show, even though they never really fully went for it.

Time has a very metaphorical quality on 24. Even though it’s real time, the distance technically would be fifteen years older than when Kiefer started. We obviously don’t play it that way, it’s funny, even [director/executive producer] Jon Cassar and I have a running argument that it’s actually 2015 on the show and that accounts for some of the science fiction conceits. But it really takes place in a nebulous, near future present.

Anyways, Jack Bauer - now a freelancer - will be called before Senate committee to answer questions about the numerous illegal actions he’s done for the past six seasons. We know Chloe will be back, somehow, and Tony Almeida might too!
Yeah yeah, he died in season five. But in 24 no one is ever really dead, even if you saw them died.

Truth is, an alternate ending for season six was to have Jack standing on the edge of rocks, as he did, but instead of just walking away a voice would be heard: “Jack, we have a lot to talk about.” It was Tony.

They have a new President already, and she won’t be no Palmer. “It’s time to go back to an idealized president — a well-articulated and idealized president“, said Gordon, adding that no, she won’t know Jack from one of his previous mission or saving the world.

Well, maybe there’s hope for the new day in the life of Jack Bauer after all…
