More of The Office for the same price

As I previously mentioned, when returning on September 27 The Office will come back with a one hour long episode !
But that won’t actually be only a one-time thing. Executive producer Greg Daniels said that, as part of NBC’s (smart) strategy to cut down the number of repeats throughout the season, the show would have hour-long episode for its first four weeks !
The longer episodes will also fill a “hole” in the schedule, as NBC won’t premiere their lead-out, Scrubs, until October 25. Even though this new season will be 25 episodes long, like the previous one, it will feature a lot more of Dunder-Mifflin and his employee. How’s that for great news?
The Office will now find itself against the Grey’s Anatomy and CSI for a full hour
Another great news, Daniels also confirmed that Jenna Fischer, our lovely Pam, is recovering from multiple fractures in her back (which she suffered after falling at NBC’s post-upfront party) and should be able to be back and working when The Office begins filming next month.
“I spoke to her this morning : she’s getting better, walking around, exercising. We’ll probably take it a little easy on her in the beginning.”
Another little tidbit of info : Daniels wants to do an episode that more blatantly acknowledges that a film crew has been following the characters for the last few years. “I think there are so many of these single-camera shows now that I don’t know that everybody realizes this is supposed to be a documentary.”
Really? Did you not got that? Not even with how it’s filmed, how they actually look at the camera, or how they regularly gives explanations or answers questions in interview-style moments??
Spoiler Alert: Following info contains (little) spoiler, stop reading if you don’t want to know any
Of course no word on what will happen with the Jim/Pam/Karen triangle, but we know that Rashida Jones (Karen) will be back for “a certain number” of episodes. Obviously no actual number have been put out, not to reveal how things could work between her & Jim.
Ryan’s promotion to Dunder-Mifflin corporate is real and will happen. Yes, Ryan the temp will now be Michael’s new boss! And still in love with him, Michael will obviously think it’s a great thing when Ryan will try to shake things up and take the company to step foot into the Internet age…..
Obviously Jan has really been fired, but she will still be present on the show since, shockingly, she moved in with Michael in his condo!
Roy, on the other side, is over. Fired and dumped by Pam, we won’t see him again. Although Daniels did say that, just like any other character, as long as they’re not dead, they might still be around, and, you know, reappear some day, on the streets of New-York…
