More news about Lost future schedule, DATES INCLUDED!

LostPeople, I got some big news : Lost is back ! No but I mean, with the strike over it’ll be back for a few more episodes. hum.. Okay, so yes we all know that already, and we already had words from Lindelof and Cuse, either when I first made a list of shows returning, updating that list, or even with a recent interview of Carlton Cuse.

What did we know ? We know that Lost will go on break after episode 7 for about a month, and then return with episode 8, the last one completed before the strike, followed by five new episodes. We also knew that Lost would change time slot, which as I said before I’m not sure is such a good idea.

We also know that the creative minds don’t intend to change their overall plan for the season, and that they would end it the same; and also that the 3 episodes missing this season would probably be added in the next seasons.

Now we have confirmations of all that, a little more info and, yes, DATES !!

As planned, the last episode of the current batch, episode 7, will air March 13. Then the show will go off the air for six weeks, and return April 24 at 9.00 with episode 8 (last pre-strike episode).

Then the following week, May 1, Grey’s Anatomy is coming back on ABC and will get his slot back, so Lost will then move to 10.00 and stay there for the following five weeks. And again, should this new lineup work, ABC would probably bring it back next season.

Again, I really find this is pretty lame. Especially that they don’t even bring Grey’s Anatomy back on May 1st, but one week later. So after one month and a half away, Lost come back at 9.00 only to change slot the next week. I’m still thinking that it would have been better to bring back Lost on May 1st at 8.00 and let it there for the rest of the season.

Anyways, that’s for the dates, and they also confirmed that the 3 missing episodes would find their way in the next seasons, though it hasn’t been determined how exactly. To find out what will happen during all the five new episodes, we turn to no other that Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse, obviously. (spoiler-free)

Lindelof explained that the writing team plans to squish the full arc they had planned for 8 episodes into only 5, so you can expect things to move fast!We are going to execute our full story plan for season four. This simply requires a shift from high-octane storytelling to superhigh-octane storytelling. It requires no cramming, only a slightly heavier foot on the gas pedal… so, hold on to your hats. Those of you waiting for the long-anticipated Jin and Hurley Ping-Pong tournament, however, will be very disappointed.

We will condense our storytelling, but we don’t think that will be a bad thing. We couldn’t be more excited to be back!” added Carlton Cuse.

And if you are wondering about the full impact of “loosing” three episodes this season, here’s what Lindelof had to say about it : “With three less episodes, that’s 18.7% less episodes than the originally promised total of sixteen. Therefore, while it is true you will get 18.7% less answers, you will also get 18.7% less new QUESTIONS to bang your head against the wall about. So at least there’s that.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait !
