Lost Schedule : The Official Dates, For Good

By fred | February 27, 2008

LostWith the strike over, it was announced that many shows, starting with Lost, would go back to production asap to add a few episode to their current season. We then learned that five more episodes would be added to the currently airing season 4 of the show, bringing the total episode to 13 (8 episodes were produced prior to the strike). But, unlike what was originally planned, the creative team of Lost suggested that episode 7 would be the one to end the current batch of episodes, keeping episode 8 to open the new batch in April, because it worked better that way.

But ABC worked on their schedule, deciding to move Lost back to the 10.00 slot - which I still believe is a bad idea for this show BTW - and was willing to get their Thursdays night to open with new episodes of Ugly Betty at 8.00, followed by the return of hit-drama Grey’s Anatomy at 9.00 and finally new episodes of Lost, at 10.00

But the thing is, much like Lost those two shows would only be able to produce 5 more episodes, and ABC didn’t want to move Lost during it’s come back, or to air it once without the two others. So they’ve confirmed what I feared and decided not to listen : the mid-season finale will be episode 8 after all, airing March 20 at 9.00

After that we’ll have to find a way to survive without new episodes for a while, and on April 24 Lost will return, at 10.00, with 5 new episodes. It will be five consecutive weeks of Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy and Lost every Thursday on ABC, and on May 22 will come episode 13, the season finale (as well as season finale for Ugly Betty & Grey’s Anatomy, obviously).
