Lost found Carlton Cuse back !

With the writers’ strike going on, “there’s been a real difference of opinion” among showrunners about whether writers should act as producers during the strike or not, said Carlton Cuse, executive producer and showrunner of Lost. “I’m in the moderate camp. I strongly believe that each showrunner should make a decision based on his own conscience and circumstance.”
Divisions have begun to emerge, some believe they couldn’t keep working without writing and as such should stop everything, also showing their support to the strike. So far pretty much everyone agreed not to work, but since production studios started to send threatening letters of possible suit due to breach of contract, a number of showrunners have become very anxious about this whole situation.
More than that, many are simply worried about their shows and their future, should they be worked on by others or shut down completely, with the affect it has on the non-writing staff working on the shows as well.
Well, Carlton Cuse seems to have made his own decision, and he’s planning to go back and do some post-production work on the 8 episodes that, sadly, ABC plans to air this February as planned.
Now this may sound “bad”, but Cuse did not cave in to threats, well not those threats at least, and he will not do any writing work quite obviously. But if ABC really wants to butcher the upcoming season and air the only 8 episodes they got, I think Cuse may have made a good decision. As he said, “we would hurt our franchise if we didn’t do it ourselves“.
