Knight Rider picked up for a full season !?? ; The CW orders more Privileged scripts ; Dollhouse is fine, really

* Jesus Christ, doesn’t anyone at NBC have a brain ?
Of sure, for some reason some people are indeed watching the new Knight Rider on Wednesdays, but my guess is they do because it sucks so much it becomes “funny”, and they all are curious as to how low NBC can sink… And here’s your answer : the Peacock gave a back-nine order for the show, bringing Knight rider to a full 22-episode season !
That’s right, this piece of crap which is probably the worst of all new series NBC brought up this season has been picked up, meanwhile a truly brilliant series like Life continues to struggle on Friday nights, with no support, no promotion, and network messing up the show… God I hate NBC.
* Meanwhile over at The CW, and despite struggling with ratings - though I’m not sure 90210 really is the best/most compatible lead-in the show could hope for - Privileged received a little support from the net as more scripts have been ordered. Of course, we’re talking scripts here, not episodes, but it is said The CW considers the show to be what it’s looking for, and it could get a back-nine order despite lower-than-average ratings. Which would be good news, don’t you agree?
* Quick mention of Dollhouse : Now that Amy Acker, co-star of Fox’s upcoming Joss Whedon latest series Dollhouse, has talked a bit, everyone is reporting that Dollhouse is fine after all. So let me just say this : I don’t believe the show was ever in trouble, and I find really hard to believe those “reports” (/”rumors”) that, when Fox picked up Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, it was because the show has creative problems and Fox was already considering to drop the 24/Dollhouse schedule for 2009 and looking for replacement…
Seriously, folks, I know Fox has a pretty bad history at dealing with (great) shows, especially with sci-fi and Whedon, but don’t you think it’s a little too much to assume that they would not only totally not believe nor support the show, but were also already planning on canceling it after one or two episodes only even though it has yet to premiere in months ?? All that while we’re talking Joss Whedon here, the mastermind behind Buffy, Firefly or Dr Horrible, so clearly the man knows how to achieve greatness.
Lastly, I feel that ever since Kevin Reilly joined Fox, things have changed. This is the guy who forced NBC not to give up on The Office when the first season wasn’t the rating-hit is it today, he’s the one who developed hits like Heroes, 30 Rock or E.R., launched The Shield while at FX, or has been said to be responsible for pilot episode of The Sopranos or Rescue Me.
Obviously, he didn’t fit at NBC, see report above regarding Knight Rider or anything Ben Silverman does, but there’s reason to have faith things might be changing at Fox… Let’s hope future will prove me right.
