Jericho fans to go Nuts again?

By fred | July 4, 2007

There will only be seven episodes in this season. So it was pretty much to allow the writers to get the show to an end, to wrap-up the story and give answers to the fans, so they aren’t left alone in the dark, feeling like they just wasted time watching a show for which they’ll never get any answer, never get to know what was (really) going on.

But then.

Then came Carol Barbee, executive producer on the show. Because producers of the show say they’re grateful to fans for what they did, bring Jericho back, but it doesn’t mean fans will see that in their act. Maybe not.

See, at first CBS suggested a 2-hour movie, to end Jericho. They didn’t agree to such a thing, as they “weren’t in any way interested in closing [the story] downâ€?.

Then CBS come back with the 7-episodes season, saying they “only [had] time and space on [their] sound stage for [them] to do a limited number of episodes.

So Barbee and friends took that as a hint that, maybe, if when those seven episodes air all of the Jericho viewers from before the break are back, and watch the show, then maybe…

And by watch, I mean as in really watch it. No TIVO or anything, but live watching. And by Jericho viewers, obviously, I mean Nielsen householders, since they’re still the only ones who counts, for networks.

And let’s not forget that in was a very huge “if in the first place, followed by an even bigger “maybe. There was no guarantee of any kind for more episodes, or another season, or anything else than those seven episodes the fans got for their show.

Yet, Barbee ensures that they will “do those [7 episodes] with the intention that we’ll be backâ€?. Meaning what? Well, that (maybe) those seven episodes won’t actually get viewers any answers as to what’s going on on the show, who are behind the wheels, who did planned & went on with the attacks. Nothing.
Well, maybe a little yes. But only a little, nothing big.

No, maybe there will be no (real) answers, or ending, and viewers & fans will essentially be left just like they were after the last episode of the first season. Only this time, it was known before hand, by everyone, that there would be nothing after. And sending nuts will not work again.

Oh and, this second “maybe, well sadly this one sounds much more plausible than the huge one before. This one might even only be a “maybe in the mind of fans, hoping that this won’t happen to them and their show, again. Not after all the nuts.
