I don’t want to hate House…

So of course, when, in House, it started to be clear that Foreman would really leave, at first I thought maybe Omar Epps wanted leave the show. But then, Chase and Cameron went down the same road.
Problem is, I highly doubt they will let go all three actors. So they will do that stupid old thing, create some kind of BS character evolution, and have some stupid and as much BS season ending cliffhangerly “mystery”, because we know that they will be back, all of them, like nothing happened.
It really saddens me to see such a great show use that old awful plot. Because I love the show, but what happened makes me start to hate it a little. I don’t want to, but the writers make me!
Not because of what happened, but of what will most likely follow. Bringing them back, even if it is not exactly like they were before, would just suck.
It could be done in a way that makes things not only acceptable, but great : dare it. Surprise us, and have them out, for real, for good.
If the new season would start and no one would come back, not only for the first few episodes, but for the whole season, and show, it would then turn what looked like the worst thing they ever done ever into a great, daring, surprising move.
I would still be pleased if one, but one only, would find a way back. To have say Cameron come back to the hospital, but not under House. Yet, somehow still work with him, but as her own boss, or answering to Cuddy directly.
And now I am hearing than production has actually casted a bunch of new doctors!
Olivia Wilde (previously seen on the quickly canceled The Black Donnellys), Kal Penn (seen on 24), Peter Jacobson and Anne Dudek have all been hired for the upcoming season.
So, could it be? Does this mean that Cameron, Chase and Foreman have all been permanently replaced?
Sadly, no. Because those new doctors will be around for a minimum of height episodes. Read, they might not all leave at the same time, maybe one or two might stick around all season (series?) long, but they’ll leave, and the original trio will eventually come back.
Sure, it will be nice to have some fresh new blood on the show, especially if at least one or two of them can, or try to stand up to House. But still, a big part of everything that will happen will really have a bad taste, I’m afraid.
Because even stretched out over half a season, or even one full season, a big old cliché is still nothing but a big old cliché. Just look at the first season of 24 : Jack and wife were separated, they get together, tell each other again that they love each other, she finds out she’s pregnant, they’re both so happy, and then she dies.
Sure, usually this happens in movies, and it only takes a few minutes, not 24 episodes, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is what it is, and don’t taste good.
And as much as I love House and hope to see them surprise me and not fall into the trap they set out, I’m afraid they’ll make me hate the show that I love…

I agree with what you said, but the only thing is…I don’t want them to start all over with new ducklings, he is going to be figuring them out, they are going to be getting used to him….this is all BS! We already had wonderful team, and they could evolve characters from there!
But…if they chose to do this, to get rid of all of them, they need to deal! The only reason I would stop watching this show is if Cameron doesn’t come back or Cuddy has House’s baby…lol…If they make this Olivia chic another Cameron and start all over, I’ll puke…
Oh God! Cuddy having House’s baby… lol
No I doubt they’ll just use the new doctors as “clones”, but they will be House new “toys” for sure, hopefully at least a couple of them will stand up.
But as I said, I would have liked it best if only Cameron would come back, but the others were definately gone. Having everyone one leave on to bring them back is a bit lame, especialy Foreman (nothing against him) who was “really” leaving, as in the Hostipal, and city, etc…
Not like Cameron who might have quit working for House only, not leave the Hospital - same could also apply to Chase.
One thing for sure, it’s gonna get crowded, with the original trio still around (just maybe not working for House, or not directly) and thos new additions, especially since word is Edi Gathegi has been hired as well!
BTW one or two of them (those that the public will like best) might end up being series regular!
Past tense of quit is quit, not quitted.
