Heroes got the real detective Mars!

By fred | August 20, 2007

Kristen BellAnd the Heroes drama continues… A couple of days only I reported about a new casting addition for the upcoming season, and here we have already another one, again.

Kristen Bell, of Veronica Mars fame, who was reportedly being sought for several TV shows, including “rival” ABC’s Lost, signed on for multi-episodes appearances on Heroes, according to Variety.
It would turned out to be a great move from NBC’s hit show, as Bell must be on a most-wanted list over all networks right now, because she’s also lending her voice as the narrator in the CW’s new show, Gossip Girl.

If NBC was successful at something for this new season, it’s to have their shows being talked about, thanks to big casting “coups”. First they hired Isaiah Washington for their new Bionic Woman, with the possibility of the recurring guest gig turning into a regular one.

And now, the lovely Kristen Bell, whom many were after, signed on Heroes. Obviously this will generate a lot of buzz about the show, and should also bring new viewers in as Mars’ fans appear to be pretty loyal to their cute favorite detective.

This was not easy to pull off. But since we’re an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in [Bell's] schedule“, Heroes creator Tim Kring explained.

I’m sure they’re all pretty excited about this new, and many fans of Veronica Mars and/or Kristen Bell must be as well, but I wonder if Heroes are - for those who aren’t fans of Mars or Bell also, obviously.

Bell is just one more name on already too-long list, and I can’t help myself but being more and more anxious than the second season will turned out to be more like last season’s finale than when the show was at its best…

Spoiler Alert

Bell will play yet another mysterious girl named Elle, whose powers are still unknown, with connections to the supposed death of Peter (I’m telling you, way too much people will be on this season… talk about taking risk!), HRG’s past, and Claire’s future.

Elle should made her introduction to the show, set to air in October, by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she is one of the good guys, or one of the bad ones.
