HBO to get Bored To Death

HBO just greenlighted a new half-hour comedy to pilot, Bored To Death. The pilot will center on a Brooklyn writer going through a painful breakup, and who decides, a s a way to deal with it, to act out his dream to live as a character of our a Raymond Chandler novel. As a result, he finds a new lease on life by offering up his services as an inexperienced private eye.
The pilot has been written by Jonathan Ames - author of novels I Pass Like Night, The Extra Man or Wake Up, Sir! - who will also be executive producer along with former HBO exec Sarah Condon. Casting is now under way.
