Fox Announces Fall Premieres Dates
By fred | June 6, 2008
Summer hasn’t even started yet that Fox is already making public the premieres dates for its Fall schedule, just so that you can write them down on a post-it note somewhere and loose it in the next months. Fear not though, I’ll remind you when your favorite shows return in a few months. Plus, who’s to tell they won’t make some adjustment within the coming months ?
Anyways, the dates are there and I have it say I’m a bit disappointed to see that if at first they intended to come back in late August, they’ll actually wait for September to kick things started. Sure that’s still better than late October as we may have to wait on other networks, but we have to remember that in October Fox will have the Major League Baseball playoffs, so expect your shows to go on a break around that time…
Knowing that, coming back maybe a week or two might not have been such a bad idea. Anyhow, Fox is doing some things right : they’re not shy promoting new shows they believe in (see Fringe), and unlike NBC it sure looks like they first focused on coming up with a great ($10 million budget) pilot, and show, and only then dove into promotion.
Going with break-free schedule as for 24 is a good idea, and I’m curious how their latest “remote free” idea will turn out, but at least it will get us more content per episode for both Fringe and Dollhouse (remember both Dollhouse and 24 aren’t coming back until 2009, hence why there’s MIA in the listing below). And this season, a few series will premiere or return with two episodes back to back, and that sounds like a great thing!
