Flashpoint already renewed for a second season in Canada !

The first season of Canadian-imported series Flashpoint is still airing on CBS, and while The Eye hasn’t committed to anything beyond this first season, its hometown broadcaster CTV has already renewed the show for a second season !
The first Canadian series to air in primetime on a U.S. network in over a decade has been doing pretty well both in Canada, averaging 1.7 million viewers on CTV since its debut mid-July, and in the U.S. with a solid 7+ million viewers audience on average every week on CBS, all the while NBC had the Olympics. So it seems very likely that the second season of the show will find its way to CBS as well.
“Flashpoint has hit its mark with North American audiences and remained competitive - even during the Olympics. Viewers have embraced Flashpoint and we are answering their call for more.” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV.
I’m really happy to hear we’ll get more of this one, as the show turned out to be a pretty solid drama. CTV has ordered a second season of 13 new episodes, with production expected to begin in Toronto in early 2009.
