Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog - Act I
By fred | July 15, 2008
Okay… so here we are, the day the Earth saw the first act of Joss Whedon’s made-for-Internet musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog… well, for those who lives in the United States that is. That’s right, it’s the big day and I’m all excited to finally see this thing, and all I see is that stupid annoying message from NBC’s crappy “hulu” telling me that I can’t see nothing, because I’m not from the US.
UPDATE: Alright people, this mess has been fixed and it should now be available from anywhere !! I just saw it, and it’s all kinds of awesome! I love it, Neil Patrick Harris is the best, this thing is hilarious, and there’s not as much singing as I thought there would be. In fact, though I’m not usually a fan of musicals, here I kinda wish there was more singing. And that it lasted longer, damn this thing is way too short, no way it lasted 15 minutes, felt like 2; I want more!
Now that is a freaking stupid limitations, no matter what (I mean those retards at NBC sometimes even refuse to play just clips or promo videos of their shows, like they don’t want to even promote them outside of the US, though they might air there, and people can actually order (region 1) DVDs from anywhere in the world… but that’s not what we’re talking about today), but when it comes to his little musical, it’s just completely retarded!
I’m sorry, I’m sure Whedon is trying to do his best, but here’s a good advice then : stay away from NBC. No really, they might have great shows, somehow, but they are pretty awful when it comes to really support them or even promote them.
Bottom line is : I’m really disappointed right now. So much for “An Internet Miniseries Event!” when you restrict the Internet to people from the US. I guess some still haven’t realized that today, people from all over the world are watching the same thing at the same time, or at least they’re willing to, or trying to limit them or impose your own choices on them won’t work.
But hey, I’m sure someone will get the video of that first act and put it on YouTube or something soon. Sure, NBC will hunt those videos and ask YouTube to take them down, but it’ll find a way back. Listen, they might have millions of dollars, but we’re billions of people, so if we want to, they’re screwed.
And who knows, maybe they’ll fix it for all of us to see it. Hopefully soon, cause everything goes away on July 20 so if we could access them before that day… I know it sounds obvious, but when NBC people are involved it’s better to make sure…
In the mean time, if you’re one of the lucky ones who can see the video, head over DrHorrible.com now and enjoy! I’m sure it’s great… let me know how great it actually is!

Shows: Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

funny enough, this works for me (situated in a swiss company)
just watched it, its funny, and joss amazes us again with his ideas. its way too short though, and I’m not quite sure I like the way it’s set up as a musical, even though the songs/singing seemed good.
Oh I see, so you’re saying it’s a conspiracy against me only, is that it ? Well I’m not gonna let it slide that easy I tell you…
Okay, so they fixed it indeed, seems it works now from anywhere in the world, yay!!
I just watched it, and I love it! I’m not usually a big fan of musicals, but this little thing is just awesome, and cute, and great, and funny, and, yes, way too short. Can’t wait for Thursday and Act 2 to show up!
