Don’t set your DVR yet, it will change !

By fred | December 21, 2007

I’ve been busy on other things, and so I didn’t really keep up with all the recent changes of schedule that took place during the past few hours days. But apparently, with the strike going on all networks are changing dates and adjusting their schedules all the time. Partly, they do so after learning the competition’s schedules, which then adjust as well, and so on over & over, and I guess partly they’re also trying to confuse people.

My guess is, they announce new episodes but air reruns, or change dates, thinking that people will tune in by fear of missing something. Which is a retarded idea, because many are already pissed, and adding the Holidays on top of that, many new episodes have already not performed as well as they usually go, and everyone knows they’ll probably repeat, given, you know, that they don’t have anything else to air anyways.

Anyways… let’s try to see where we are at the moment, shall we?

NBC moved the premiere of some celebrity crap show, to premiere January 10 instead of January 3, to avoid the last new Grey’s Anatomy. Meanwhile ABC moved the premiere of Cashmere Mafia from January 3rd, after Grey, to January 6, after the last episode of Desperate Housewives. Which means than Brothers & Sisters will have to wait until January 13.

Of course, as you could have guessed by the move of Cashmere Mafia’s premiere, ABC then moved the last Grey’s Anatomy from January 3 to January 10. So obviously NBC had no choice but to move back Celebrity Apprentice back to January 3, as originally planned. Pussies.

To sum up :

- the last Women’s Murder Club will air January 4 at 9.00,
- the last Desperate Housewives will air January 6 at 9.00,
- the series premiere of Cashmere Mafia moved to January 6 at 10.00 (regular slot should still be Wednesday at 10.00, starting January 9),
- the last Grey’s Anatomy moved to January 10 at 9.00,
Brothers & Sisters will return on January 13 at 10.00.

As seen, no change for NBC.

Oh and, in other news NBC - them again - decided to drop Backyards & Bullets, one of the few new series it had ordered, and for which a pilot had been shot! Yes, they are refusing new content in those times of strike… I would like to think it’s because it was a pile of crap, but they are still (officially) planning on shooting and airing the few remaining episodes of Bionic Woman… so, you know, I don’t know.

Funnily enough, the show starred, along with Billy Burke, Matthew St. Patrick, Lou Diamond Phillips or Jessalyn Gilsig, Kristin Lehman. I’m not sure why, but I seem to remember her and associate her with canceled-too-soon series, like Tilt (though that was bad), Killer Instinct or, of course, Drive.
