Dirt bites the dust, A final date for The Shield…
By fred | June 9, 2008
* Might not be your usual time for such news, but last night at the “A Time for Heroes” Celebrity Carnival benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, when asked about the chances of her show Dirt to be picked up for a third season, Courteney Cox Arquette made the rumor official: “It just got canceled.”
The show was never a real hit, and its second season - shortened down to only 7 episodes due to the writers’ strike - really didn’t do as well as the first, the season premiere being down 2 million viewers from 3.7 to 1.7 million. The season finale, and now series finale, was only watched by 1.1 million viewers.
* It’s been known now that the final season of The Shield would premiere in September, but no actual date was known. Updates again, there’s now an official date, so you can mark your calendars already and put on a note about Vic Mackey’s return, planned for Tuesday, September 2nd
* What about [insert summer show name] ? Well, here’s the way to find out when other summer shows will be returning, if at all ?
