Christmas Gift Idea: The West Wing
By fred | November 24, 2008
As everyone knows it’s that time of year again, Christmas is coming and maybe you’re looking for a gift idea, to please the TVoholic in you, or one of your friends. To help you in your quest, or just to droll over those sets without having the chance to actually get them, as some of them can be quite pricey, I’ll give you a few ideas of complete series packs that any TVoholic should have…
The West Wing - The Complete Series Collection
From genius Aaron Sorkin comes this outstanding series, brilliant television as is rarely seen. Anyone who watches the show knows how fantastic it was, and if you somehow managed to miss it you really have to fix this, because you’re missing out on one of the best thing TV ever gave us. It was an amazing piece of television inviting us inside the White House to follow POTUS and his staff as they dealt with all the problems, crises, triumphs, idealistic ideas and cold realities of the world as it is.
Critically acclaimed — the show received a total of 2 Golden Globes and 26 Emmys, including 4 consecutive awards for Outstanding Drama Series for its first seasons — this is a must-see for every one, TVoholic or not, and what best than this set to follow again the journey of Josh, Toby, Sam, C.J., Leo, Donna, Charlie and every one else as they helped Bartlet be Bartlet.
This is a nice-looking 45-disc set including all seven seasons - and even though we all know the best ones where the first years, with Sorkin in charge, you cannot not have the entire collection. It comes with the Pilot script with foreword from series creator Aaron Sorkin and hours of special features (commentaries, behind-the-scenes featurettes, unaired scenes, gag reels, …) and will give your faith (again) in politics.
