CBS renews Flashpoint, too

Weeks after the Canadian import was renewed by CTV, Flashpoint just got a vote of confidence from CBS as well, ordering a 13-episode second season.
Of course the show was going to have a second season anyway, since CTV had already ordered a second season on its own and co-producer CBS Paramount was still on board, but beyond the vote of confidence, this also guarantees that said sophomore season will air on CBS.
Averaging 7.7 million viewers, the show hit a series-high last Thursday for its last episode before hiatus, with 9.7 million viewers and a 2.6 on the demo, winner of its slot on both ends. The second season will begin production in early 2009 in Toronto, no dates yet have been set for the return of the show on the air, in Canada like in the US.
