Britney Spears to come back in How I Met Your Mother !??

I don’t get it, I really don’t, and I’m almost starting to loose faith in the creative minds behind this great little show. As you all know Britney Spears did a guest appearance in a recent episode, and I was kinda okay with it.
I was, because while terrible she wasn’t given much to do, she wasn’t on for more than a few seconds, and if that could help boost the show’s ratings and help CBS finally renew it, I was willing to go along with it. Of course having watched the episode you know all the actors and producers rambling on how great and talented Britney was was in fact pure crap, I mean, we do have eyes !
But it was behind us now, so we could forget about it and move on. But no, alas, because they’re apparently trying to get her to come back !!
And while the first time they insisted that they didn’t write for Britney, that they didn’t go and went looking for her, trying to boost the ratings, that it was her who asked to come on the show and they just said yes. So, what now ?? How come rumors are strong that Britney and the show’s producers are in talk to have her to come back again as “Ted’s stalker” in “at least one more episode” !!
Is it me, or does that sound like they would even be willing to have her for more than one episode ?? Hey, here’s an idea : why not make her the mother also ?! Seriously, I’m loosing my faith in Bays & Thomas I think.
As the most recent & awesome episode proved, they don’t need no one else but their original cast, starting with Barney of course, to make episodes that are great, that are hilarious, that are pretty much perfect and don’t need anything else. Especially not some stupid guest!
And really, if you want to bring back someone, bring back Sarah Chalke !! Now she was awesome, yes. Perfect comic timing, great chemistry with Ted, also gorgeous which is always something I appreciate. And I’m pretty sure many fans of the show would agree with me in saying that we would love to see more of her, I would even be willing to see a little less of her in Scrubs so that she could be a bit more in How I Met Your Mother !
I was not thrilled, to say the least, when I first heard of Britney appearing on the show, but I was willing to be fine with it if it meant helping the show getting renewed. But now, I’m really questioning things, and I don’t buy for one second that a second appearance would, well, first that it would be as successful, but more importantly than it could help CBS in any way, especially since we’ve seen that the “Britney bump” lasted for one episode only, the one she was in.
Unless they intend to make Spears a regular character, but in such a case, I’m out.
The show has been doing great creatively from the start, and this season is no exception. With the new timeslot ratings have improved, also proving that it deserves more recognition that it’s gotten so far, so it doesn’t need Britney, it needs to be renewed.
One last thing, and a more positive note to end : I hear rumors that CBS should indeed renew the show. So they can do things right sometimes, let’s just hope the show’s producers won’t make things wrong in the mean time…
