Another kind of Family Guy…

By fred | November 15, 2007

All the completed episodes of Family Guy have now aired. That’s right, last Sunday we got to see the last episode fully completed and ready to air there was. Yet there are still three more episodes planned to air on Sundays, but those episodes still haven’t gotten a final tweaking and approval by creator Seth MacFarlane, who said that those episodes were “relatively close to completion, but they have not had a final pass” yet.

Now you’re probably wondering what will happen to those episodes, and it looks like they might just air like that, like nothing happened. “It would just be a colossal dick move if they did that” told MacFarlane Tuesday, and it looks more and more like it will happen.

Legally speaking, as MacFarlane conceded, Fox and 20th Century Fox - producers of the show - would be “legally within their rights” to go with it, “but they’ve never done anything like this before, in which they’ve said, “We’re going to finish a show without you” It’s really going to be unfortunate and damaging to our relationship if they do it.

And they very well might be willing to do it anyways. In fact, the first of the three episodes MacFarlane did not approve has already been delivered to Fox. Could this create more problems for the future of the show, as MacFarlane isn’t just creator & writer, but also does a lot of voices and draws the first sketches for animation ?
