A lot more of The Office, and some more House !

* According to Michael Ausiello, NBC has ordered no less than 30 episodes for the next season of hilarious sitcom The Office. I won’t lie, this news gets me both really happy, cause I love me some The Office, but also a bit worried. Yes, worried, because that’s about how many episodes were ordered for this season, and we all know that it meant some of those episodes would actually be “regrouped” and air as so-called “hour-long” episodes…
And except for the very last one of them, which I did like, those extended episodes were not such a good idea, at least I didn’t think so, and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t alone there. It really felt like things were dragged on for too long, and usually you could tell that the second half-hour of the episode wasn’t as good as The Office usually is, which is a shame. So really, I’d much rather take a 24 episodes order and no hour-long episode over what seem like more of The Office, but in the end turns out to be disappointing…
Anyways, before those even came into play, new episodes will be added this season and be back on NBC, starting April 10.
* In unrelated news, Katie Jacobs, writer on House, recently commented on the now over writers’ strike and its consequences for Fox medical hit-drama. After some “not so kind” words, calling the strike a “failure of leadership” on the part of the guild’s negotiating committee, which focused on how to hurt the networks instead of negotiating an agreement“, she want on to say that it was “heartbreaking for new series just starting out” as well as a blow to House, “which had just started to hit its stride” as it began its fourth season.
Then, she confirmed that this season would feature 8 episodes less than originally planned, which obviously would have an impact on the stories planned, though they wouldn’t left us hanging. “We will absolutely not be able to do what we were going to do with 24 episodes in 16, but we will finish the story arcs we started.”
Four new episodes of House will be added this season, and back on Fox starting April 28.
