24 Update: Carlyle was drunk, or something.

Not that all Scotsmen love their beer, just that apparently he got about everything wrong !
Remember yesterday, how I mentioned a recent interview Robert Carlyle did for Premiere.com, during which he announced a bunch of things about the 24 movie prequel and the upcoming season ? Well, it did sound quite odd, not just to me, and TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich got in touch with Fox to ask what the Hell was going on !
As it goes, when Carlyle said that “this two hours is two hours in real time and there’ll then be 22 episodes“, that was wrong. The movie is indeed a real prequel to the season, two hours of additional stuff to which will be added a full, 24-episode season of the action-packed hit-drama, for the seventh day in the life of Jack Bauer. Thank God!
Not only that, but according to Carlyle the season premiere took place right after the movie, since he thought it was actually the two first episodes of the season. As a matter of fact, that was wrong again ! No, the movie doesn’t lead straight into the new season.
The truth is, the prequel itself picks up four years after the events of last season — sending our Jack Bauer in the year 2017 - and then another few months will pass between the movie and the season premiere.
Glad that this is all cleared up, and now to remind everyone : the 24 movie prequel will air Sunday, November 23rd at 8.00 on Fox, and I can’t wait!
