Yeah, Cat fight!

By fred | April 6, 2007

I got a few questions about the monster :
- why the hell couldn’t he just go up? Like Kate, Locke, Sayid and Rousseau did??

- at one time I thought the black smoke was a manifestation of the Island itself. The Island has a “power, that (some) people can “use (like Locke, who can walk, etc), but it can also manifest itself on its own. I wonder if that’s the case or not, because if so it sure looks like the Island isn’t on the Others side, if you ask me. Seing how Ben seem to have lost/be loosing his connection with the Island, maybe there’s a huge thing happening on the Others-land that we’re not really aware of.

- looks like this scene was also serving another point, back on the jungle Kate & Juliet were obviously attacked by whatever went after Locke back in the days. At least that’s how I saw it. There was something there, something big, mechanic, loud, noisy, that get ride of anything (like trees) on its way.
Then, it kinda “turned into the black smoke. But the black smoke is like the opposite of that. There no presence, you might not even know it’s there, it makes no noise, won’t even move a leaf… Sure it can grab someone and smash it to the ground if it wants, but still. You get my point: I never felt it was the same thing, but it that last attack it definitely looked like it was the same thing, somehow…

I wonder if it really is the Island itself, and it’s after the Others. Because maybe the Others are not on the side of the Island after all, maybe they’re only “using it… Although they could’ve been killed by the black smoke easily all those times they were walking around bare feet, if the Island really wanted to, one would think.

Cat Fight!Anyways, after this they blocked the black some, they get back to Othersville to found Jack still unconscious on the floor. What does thay say? That this definitely is part of their plan!!
I mean come on, Kate & Juliet spend a day and a night in the jungle, fighting in the mud, and we should believe that during that time Jack & Sayid were still unconscious ? Obviously they get exposed more to whatever the Others used, because it was supposed to happened the way it did. (Besides, seriously, what could be the point of leaving Kate & Juliet handcuffed to each other in the middle of the jungle anyway??)

A few last things. Of course, where did the Others go? Also, where the Hell is Rousseau? Did she went back with her friends (the Others), is she still hiding & following Alex? Why are they going back to the Beach? Why don’t they bring the Losties here??
Sure, they don’t know where the Others are and if they’ll be back. But they could as well attack them on the Beach, or back on the Hatch! And in the mean time, here they have a “sonic fence to protect them, they have hot water, bathrooms, fridges, beds…
