Unhitched: Yorkshire Terrier Sucked Into The Internet

(S01E05) Another episode in, and I stand by what I said about the previous episode. We had two episodes this week, and this one was episode 5, out of only 6 that were completed before the writers’ strike. That means that next Sunday will be the last completed episode, and last episode of the first season on Unhitched since no new episodes will be added this season.
The numbers haven’t been that good, and for a reason : the show had never been that funny. As I said in my last review, this show had potential at first, but never tried to actually use it and improve, instead they stayed where they were and never even tried to got better. As a result, I’m pretty sure it won’t be renewed and quite frankly I won’t miss it…
About this episode, what to say. I really can’t stand Sahgal, his character is just a foreigner with an accent, and I guess that’s funny to some, because there isn’t anything else here to justify his presence in the show. That whole bit about him ending up talking to his wife when calling technical support was something you could see coming, especially when they took care to remind you that she had moved to India, and we all know such calls are always handled in India. Boring is what it was.
And again, no character development of any kind. In the end, he’s just realizing that he’s single. Wow, big step there buddy, since that has been the case ever since the pilot and everyone has been telling you that ever since that same first episode…
Just as predictable was Tommy story, where they also opened with an explanation as to why he would be attracted to the bad girl, like that was really something we needed. The rest of the story felt much like a filler to me, because really there was nothing there.
And the whole story about the handicapped guy who started with Gator and ended with Kate, I have to say none of it made me laughs, at all. Again, it was highly predictable all along - seriously, did anyone not saw the whole filling cabinet falling on him coming ? And that the boss would then show up so that Gator looks even more insensitive and blah blah blah… this is such a bore !
The only surprising thing of that whole thing was that apparently Kate eventually bought his crap in the end, and thought that he was a good guy after all, only hiding behind his anger of how things turned out for him or whatever crap he said. I have to say that at this point I’m almost glad there’s only one episode left, cause that way I’ll be able to watch it till the end, otherwise I might have had to stop before, because it really wasn’t worth it…
