The Sarah Silverman Program: Bored of the Rings

By fred | October 4, 2007

The Sarah Silverman Program(S02E01) Oh yeah!! *cough* Okay, I’ll try not to spoil anything at first, just in case. But I just saw the episode, and this seems like an impossible task at the moment, so let’s avoid the subject, and talk and Sarah herself instead.

Ain’t she pretty? She sure is, and underneath that sexy innocent look of hers is hiding a a mean, crude horrible monster saying terrible offensive things, a monster that either you’ll find hilarious and love, and just won’t be able to stand as she’ll appear to you as a fake bitch. Wow, that’s not nice. And not true, she really is hilarious, I love her comedy and I don’t see how anyone would disagree.

If for some weird and unexplainable you do disagree, just don’t watch the show, I don’t think you’ll ever like it, at all.

If you do, you HAVE to tune in every week. It was AWESOME!! Freaking hilarious, I loved every second of it, I think I peed myself a little from laughing so hard.

After a disappointing South Park this was exactly what I needed. The Sarah Silverman Program was everything I wanted South Park to be, and everything you could expect from Sarah as well.

Don’t worry, she might have been away for for time, but she didn’t change a bit, she’s still the same self-absorbed, selfish, self-centered, childish, mean, sexy, innocent-looking girl. And you gotta love that!

As soon as I saw her rushing into the church to yell out at the “manager” because she was trying to sleep, I knew I was in for funniest half-hour I’ve had in a while. And I was not disappointed. True to herself, she joined in the group of lesbians activists near by and started fighting for babies. She did so, because they had to make the bells stop so that she can sleep.

Of course, while you knew they were all about abortion, in her own little bubble Sarah did not get that, nor did she care. So much that she even started making signs and shouting “baby killer” at her own sister with a big smile on her face. Same goes for her abortion doctor.

When eventually told the truth, she had to think about it, and decided she wanted to be able to have some more abortions in the future. And putting one and one together, she realized what they were really up to, and ran to save her sister. This is when the other subplot joins in, and our gay D&D heroes come in to rescue Sarah and her sister, and get shot in the ass, too.

I thought this other subplot wasn’t as funny as the “main one”, but it was far from being bad, and the two of them perfectly merged into one big funny final scene where everyone was invited, even the idiot cops.

Special mention for using the pretty awesome Greenday’s Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) during the flashback scenes. Made the whole thing funnier for sure, as it embodied quite well the self-absorbance she can have and shown how she wasn’t thinking about the potential kids or anything remotely close, but only her own experience each time she went to the clinic to get a new abortion.

Love the show, loved this episode, can’t wait for the next one!

It’s not Christ-like it’s like, Christ!
