South Park: Breast Cancer Show Ever

By fred | October 16, 2008

South Park(S12E09) Any episode of South Park can have a large variety of appearances, from the topic they’ll focus on to the way they will do it, you never know what to expect. This week, we had an episode that was very “normal”, it was simply about the kids form that little place in Colorado and them being kids, and Cartman being, well, Cartman. There was no epic battle, nothing about recent political event or anything that took place in Hollywood, just the kids being themselves.

And of course as is often the case with them kids, it was all about Cartman. So what did Cartman do this week ? Well plenty of course, enough to either entertain or piss off about anyone around him, and surely it made for lots and lots of great laughs as far as we’re concerned.

As always, it started with a serious topic, here Wendy trying to give a little speech to the class about breast cancer, and Cartman making fun of it. Which led to some incredibly funny moments of Cartman going on and on about how stupid this whole thing was, ignorant as always he was also on fire with his “killer titties” ! Oh he’s stupid alright, but you gotta love that fat ass!

Eventually Wendy couldn’t take it anymore, she was really pissed and just challenged Cartman to a fight! At first Cartman didn’t care, because he was certain she wouldn’t even show up, her being a scared little girl and all. But then when everyone started to talk about how they’d make fun of him if he were to lose to a girl, best comment of all coming from Butters himself (”if you got beat up by a girl, everyone would think you were a faggot!“) it really started to worry him, as Wendy looked pretty confident and determined to kick his ass.

Cartman being the evil manipulative mind he is, he started to try to get Wendy to drop out, pretending to be sorry and really felt bad for what he said, realizing how wrong it as, or going as far as saying his mother had breast cancer. But Wendy knew better, and even Cartman eating his own underwear wouldn’t get her to not kick his ass. Oh yeah, he did eat his own underwear! And then he puked it up! Gross, pretty gross, very funny, but gross.

Speaking of which, Cartman went as far as just walking up on Garrison’s desk and taking a crap right there, in front of everyone. That was just… “what’s up, what’s up, crapped on your desk, dog, what’s up with that ?” Yeah, the look on everyone’s faces right after he did that, including his own face (cause I’m not sure he realized what he was about to do until after he’d done it), now that was just priceless.

So of course Cartman eventually used his mom and posed as a poor defenseless little kid to get Wendy’s parents to ensure she wouldn’t fight, and it worked. He was making fun of her for not wanting to fight, he was even going at it again and making fun of breast cancer, and then came in Principal Victoria. Now, I don’t know if what she said was true, but I’m but buying it. Do you think she really had breast cancer ?

I think her cancer has always been Cartman, I think she knows exactly who Cartman is, and she loves the idea of someone kicking his fat ass, especially a girl. She wanted Wendy not to care about any possible consequences and just fight that fat ass, she really wanted to, and I don’t doubt that she heard the stupid things Cartman said, but I’m just not sure if she really was affected by this personally because she had cancer, or just because she’s had to deal with Cartman for all those years.

And as everyone knows, you don’t fuck with Wendy Testaberger. She really beat the crap out of Cartman, no question there! Maybe he got to throw a couple of punches in there somewhere, but clearly Wendy’s rage and hatred towards him accumulated over all those years was now exploding, and he didn’t stand a chance. Now I was actually quite surprised by Cartman’s reaction after the fight ended.

Not that he thought he used to be cool and was afraid of losing that status, not that when everyone told him how much they hated him, always had, and that they couldn’t possibly think any less of him, he took that as them trying to cheer him up because they still thought he was cool, and so in his end it’s not like he won but all was well, still. That’s pure Cartman.

No what surprised me was to see Eric bursting into tears and admitting he just lost the fight. I may be wrong, but I would have imagine him to just get up and pretend that he totally did not fight 100%, far far from it, he totally let her win, because he couldn’t possibly fight with a girl, you just don’t do that, plus he “didn’t want to hurt his bro’s bitch” — but Cartman admitting failure? That’s just not like him, is it?

Anyways, another really good episode I thought. What about you ? Did you liked this one better than last week’s episode ? What grossed you out the most, by Cartman eating his own underwear, or puking it up ? Just how much were you cheering during the fight (”Fuck him up, Wendy!” – Butters) ? Aren’t you afraid of getting killed by boobs ?
