How I Met Your Mother: How I Met Everyone Else

By fred | October 23, 2007

How I Met Your Mother(S03E05) There is something I really don’t understand with this show. Why in God’s name isn’t it more popular ?? I mean I see people talking and watching sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory, and while I’ve nothing against it, it’s definitely filled with more real/accurate nerds or geeks than Chuck will ever be, in so many ways, and yes on occasion it is funny enough to make you laugh.

But honestly, it doesn’t compete with Barney and his crew, not even close. How I Met Your Mother is one of the best, funniest sitcoms on TV right now, it should be up there with The Office or 30 Rock, maybe CBS should consider move it to Thursdays, maybe that’s why it doesn’t work. Because everything the show does, it does it right.

Needless to say, I absolutely LOVED this episode. I just saw it, and I’m still laughing at so many things we got to see. Right before I go into it more though, let’s talk about the obvious : for the first time this season, we had the whole gang together, and they stuck together the whole time.

There was no one sent to his/her own story, apart from everybody else, and while of course a few of them had their own stories not involving everyone during the flashbacks, it was such a relief to see this configuration back on the show. This is why we all felt in love with the show, and it’s so glad to see it back.

Although to be honest, I think it’s fair to say Robin wasn’t featured in any of those. Not really. But that’s not because they still have a problem with her, simply that she met Ted at the bar, and then just met everyone else at once, in a story that’s really not that interesting to go over again.

I’m not saying they resolved all issues they had with how to integrate Robin as part of the gang now, because as we’ve seen she is the latest addition to the gang and up until now was only known as a love interest for Ted. Still, this time, it was all perfectly made, up to her awful uncomfortable attempt not to undermine anyone.
Don’t worry, the relationship wasn’t that good. By the end it was mostly about sex. Which was not that good. But I was the problem, I just lie there; Ted is, very good. I’m sure he will get you where you need to go.

While everyone were together, it mostly focused on Ted as he was introducing his new date to everyone, as they all went into how everyone met everyone. His date, had a name. That’s for sure. “For the sake of the story, let’s call her…
- Everyone, this is Blah Blah.
- Oh please, call me Blah!

Right away it started great, and soon after Barney introduced the “Hot Crazy Scale“, and by then you knew you were in for a pretty awesome ride!
