House: Living The Dream

But I’ll be honest, I’m now hoping that the patient actually dies, that they find what he’s suffering from too late, when they can’t save him anymore, because introducing such a new element of mystery would create some suspense, a little, and that can never be a bad thing.
With that said, I thought this was another good episode, but there were two things mainly that bothered me. First, the original team. If there’s one thing this episode perfectly illustrated, to me, it is that they have a problem now, a problem they’ve been having for quite some time now and that they don’t really know how to get out of, and it’s all about that original team. What to do with them?…
When Cuddy asked everyone to go back and watch over House, cause there’s an inspection going on, I have to say that to me, the best reaction was Chase’s, who after confirming that he wouldn’t get fired for not doing so, just walked away. He left House, he has a new life and he doesn’t want to play with House anymore, watch over him or anything like that.
But of course, Cameron had to stick around. As House pointed out, once again he did not do all the paper work he had to do, willing to see which sucker would break down and do it for him, and it turned out it was her, again, despite the fact that she was not even in the game anymore ! But she had to come by, and to show that she does miss the puzzles, the job, and - despite what she said - House. She did say “we”…
That was the first step into getting her somehow back in the game, and I didn’t like that one bit. Again, I never had anything against the original team, but the way things were written had them to leave, they left, and so it is. Trying to get them back onboard is not a good idea, it wasn’t back when the season started, and it won’t be just because they waited one season to get there.
The other thing that bothered me was Wilson and Amber. Last week I was fine with her sticking around and the whole thing, but this week it felt like it really had nothing to do with anything, like it was this close to being a filler, and I’m not really sure why Wilson was taking advice from House, does he needs a mastermind of evil and manipulation to try and understand Amber ?
She’s right, she doesn’t need anyone to take care of her, and she seems to care about Wilson, who likes to take care of others by the way, but while it was all of that, he’s Wilson and she’s CTB, and to be honest I don’t really care to see them buying a new bed, or anything else. I don’t know, maybe it’s me…
A few other things to mention :
- Again, the opening with House kidnapping the guy, and then later sedating him in the elevator, nothing but pure House, living a life without consequences and laws to obey, not when you’re right, not when you’re him. I love it.
- What’s up with House offering to fire Thirteen a couple of times, and then Kutner if there was a chance for some Cameron & 13 getting together-action ? Did he pick my two favorites of the team because they’re the best ones ? Or just to annoy me ?
- House joked around a lot about it, and this time it was 13. Watching the soap, because that’s how real doctors solve medical mysteries, at one point Thirteen leaned forward to take a closer look at the hot-nurse in her bra, “I think I dated that nurse…”
- “Sweet-sauce!“
