House: House’s Head
By fred | May 13, 2008
But then again, the scene in the bar was pretty good, the reference to Amber and what House did and did not say out loud was pretty funny, as well as a big clue for what was to come, that it worked. The rest of it, starting with House willingly bringing himself to overdose, was totally into character. In fact, and while there was of course something more at stake there since it involved Amber, the girlfriend of his best friend, it was also a way to show how House functions : it’s not that he doesn’t care about his health, but it’s even more important to him to understand, he knows there’s a mystery, a puzzle, and he has to understand what’s going on, to resolve it, otherwise his mind won’t let him rest.
Looking back, it was more than easy I guess to know Amber was in the bus, even further that “The Answer”’s necklace, as she appeared in the bar or how Wilson analyzed the way House talked about her, or not. But I did not see it coming, and I think I like it better that way. What I’m not sure we found out though, was why she was on the bus in the first place. Also, why was House getting drunk in a bar that early, by himself ? I’m also not sure if this was supposed to be all just a coincidence, that they met in the bus, or if it meant that House and Amber met either because he found something about her, or she wanted to talk to him about something, and by something I mean a medical condition.
Though that seems unlikely, about as much as the two of them having an affair together, they were probably just talking Wilson or planning something I would imagine, but I’m sure we’ll find out next week. Because there must be something special and unusual going on, otherwise they wouldn’t need House to save Amber. Truth be told, I was never a fan of CTB, but I would really hate it by now if Amber was to die. I shouldn’t be too worried though, House never loosed a patient why would it start now.
A few more things :
House forgetting names, or not : hilarious.
“
- Lesbian. Find out if anybody on that bus was taken to other hospitals.
- He just forgot mine.
- No, Thirteen, I just wanted to call you a lesbian.
- I’m not a lesbian
- I was rounding up, from 50%.
”
- Speaking of names, now that was a big reveal we got later on, as Thirteen made a decision and decided to trust House, disregarding the law and orders from her bosses’ boss : She is Doctor Hadley. That was the first time she was referred to other than by her number, which only makes sense given the situation. Now the question remains : will she be called Hadley on Thirteen in the future ? I guess House will keep going with Thirteen, but Cuddy ? Do wed care that much ? I guess we do…
- Would it really happen anywhere else but in TV ? That Cuddy would actually spend the night at House just to make sure he sleeps a little. Which he didn’t really do that much in the end anyway.
- So, yeah, in the past I’ve said I was never really of fan of getting House & Cuddy together, but I didn’t know we were talking about getting it through House’s sexual fantasies, cause then I might have to change my mind, obviously. I mean, no question there, Cuddy is hot! And in a schoolgirl uniform - always a classic - it gets even better.
- Speaking of hot girls, great casting with the girl in the opening scene and The Answer. Now the only thing that could have made this better would have been that Cameron was back to her true color, being the gorgeous brunette she used to be (not that she’s not gorgeous now, of course she is). I may have a thing for brunettes, yes, I guess House does, too.
- Alright, so was this the best episode of the season or what ? Just thinking that next week there’s a second part, and that it could be as good as this one was, well, makes it even harder to have to wait that long !
