House: Alone

But let’s talk about what the big thing : House’s new team.
For starter, I have to say that - looking at this episode only, with no consideration at to what might, or will, come next - I absolutely loved the way it was done. Which is, we did not see Chase, Foreman or Cameron, not even a little. They left, so now they’re gone.
They were talked about for sure, and I agree that with them around House would have figured out the body swap sooner, but they were nowhere to be seen, and this was just the way it should be.
But of course, looking at the future, this will change. Because their names are still on the credits, they’re still working on the show, so they will eventually come back. And that is the part that “troubles” me, and that I’m not sure I’ll like.
I can’t really comment on how it will be done for now, since it hasn’t started yet. I’m guessing starting next week we’ll see a little of them, and I’m really not looking for it. But for now, not only the fact we didn’t see them at all was a great feeling, but this episode was also a perfect, and required, setup for House starting to look for replacements.
Having him just hiring new people right off like that would have sounded wrong, out of place, but now it makes sense to have him standing in front of a crowd, telling them that soon many of them will be gone.
I might be wrong on that one, but I’m wondering how long they’ll expand this subplot. I’d say, chances are this could last the whole season, or close. Either way, next week the look-out for a new team begins, and probably the return, somehow, of the original members as well. I might not be too excited by this last part, but I can’t wait for the next episode, regardless.
Last note : is it me, or did he barely popped any pills this week ? And by barely, I mean at all. I haven’t re-watched the episode looking for it, but I can’t even remember him getting Vicodin once !
