Hey, let’s get stuck on the roof!

By fred | February 1, 2007

Stuck. On the roof. They got stuck on the fucking roof. How ridiculous was that!? Oh. My. Good. That episode (S01E13) was pretty awful. I mean, I’ve always really liked & enjoyed watching Studio 60, but this time… Hey I got an idea : let’s get stuck on the roof! Men this episode was awful.

So yeah, Danny wants to talk to Jordan about all the recommendation letters he got her sent, recognize it was a bad idea and all. Basically, he wants to apologize to her. But they can’t talk on his office, its being re-paint, or right there cause people are walking by endlessly. And he’s got like, one word to say – “Sorry – so that needs a calm place and all. And he can’t “borrow someone else’s office for 2 seconds obviously.

Yes, they are stuck on the roof! So, they go up on the roof. And when this happened, and you think to yourself “Oh God this is ridiculous, along with a joke to yourself about watching the door not to get stuck, as it’s the most common cliché there could be.

And then, guess what happened? They did… get stuck on the freaking! Damn! roof! How retarded was that? I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it was happening, and on Studio 60 above all!

You know what ? This, is bad writing. And I don’t care that Danny Tripp (Bradley Whitford) mentions it. Mentioning it doesn’t make it ok, it just means that you knew how much it sucked, but you decided to go with it anyway. You were totally aware that you were writing bad stuff, that it was gonna be bad TV, but you went with it anyways.
Shame on you.

But hey, when you’re in to write a crappy episode you shouldn’t stop there. You should go all the way. And they did! So once stuck on their roof, they needed about half an hour (or so it seems to me) to realize that they actually had their cell phones with them!

I could see why they wouldn’t think of it sooner. I mean, it’s not like they never go anywhere without them. It’s still a very new gadget that no one is used to…

Adding to the list of why this whole plot is so bad came another pure gold : their phones don’t work. See, they’re in a huge city, on the roof on a building where no one, I mean no one, ever had any reception problem within the building. But on the roof, don’t work. They have a freaking phone antenna right next to them, so you could understand why not one of them could get a signal.

They should ask people from 24 what they use. Cause then it would not only work on your roof, but also in a miliraty bunker or after a nuclear explosion.

Obviously this episode was too good to end after its 42 minutes, so it was only the a part one. Yes, they still are stuck on that damn roof, don’t miss part two next week to see how they’ll eventually get out, if they do. I mean they haven’t started to fight and gotten really mad each other, nor did they start to make out, so they’re not ready to leave yet.
